With profound love and deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Lutgarda López, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and cherished matriarch of her family.

Elsa G. Petursson was born November 5, 1942 in Reykjavik Iceland. Elsa was one of 5 children born to Adalbjorg and Vilhjalmur.  Post-WWII Iceland was difficult, to the point that she lived with an aunt on the east coast of Iceland for several years during her childhood. As a teenager, Elsa enrolled in culinary school in Copenhagen Denmark and this became the foundation of her incredible cooking skills that family, friends and colleagues came to enjoy. Back from Copenhagen, Elsa got married in 1960 to Leifur Petursson and in 1961, Leif and Elsa immigrated to New York City with her sights set on the American Dream. Her culinary skills were huge even when the budget was small. Her renowned cookbooks/culinary tricks are safe and secure for future generations of family.   

Robert “Bob” Lohman passed away on February 2, 2026. A man with a quick wit and a twinkle in his eye, Bob was always ready with a joke. His humor paired with a steady work ethic and a generous heart, made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Phil Morgan Phillips, 83, of Riverview, Florida, passed away peacefully listening to his favorite music!

Cletus William Peck, aged 73, passed away peacefully from this life on January 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Cletus was a resident of Sun City Center, Florida.

Melvin Rappaport (77) passed away on November 5, 2025, at Sun City Hospice House. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to Seymour Rappaport and Gertrude (Kahm) Rappaport, Melvin attended Yeshiva elementary and secondary school in Brooklyn, then earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science from Brooklyn College, and Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Computer Science from City University of New York. He had a long and successful career, first in the Defense Industry, and then in the Financial Services Industry, both in greater New York City.

Idalia Troyano, of Sun City Center, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on November 28, 2025 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

James “Garret” Hutchinson, born to Rhonda and James Hutchinson on January 10, 1981 in Lakeland, FL, returned to his eternal home on July 12, 2025. As a core pillar of the Hutchinson family, Garret had the uncanny ability to unite his siblings, cousins, and parents in love despite hardships unlike any one of his other family members.

Michelle Miller, age 64, of Sun City Center, Florida passed away peacefully on 7/1/2025, after a courageous journey with cancer. She was surrounded by love and care in her final days.

Robert passed away peacefully with his family beside him on March 26,2025. He was 86 years old.

John Allen Creech, 78, of Sun City Center, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2025. Born on November 4, 1946, John dedicated his life to service, both in the military and in his community.
In the 78 years that John lived, he was so many things to so many people. He was a son, a brother, a veteran, a cousin, an uncle and a friend. John truly had a heart of gold.

Hildegard Dempsey, 81, of Sun City Center, FL passed away February 26th, 2025 at South Shore Sun City Hospital. Born in Berlin, Germany, Hilde lived all around the world being married to a military officer, Lt. Col. Daniel Dempsey.  They finally settled in Brandon, Florida in 1985.  She moved to Sun City Center when she retired in 1994.  She was a loving sister, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. 

David “Dave” Orcutt, 69, of Sarasota, FL passed away December 3rd, 2024 at Manatee Memorial Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born in Mt. Holly, NJ and grew up in Lindenwold, before moving to his beloved Long Beach Island, graduating from Southern Regional High School class of 1973. He spent the last 46 years in Sarasota, FL.
